Leading Czech telecommunications company Cesky Telecom said Tuesday that it has entered into an agreement with fast-food restaurant KFC to offer Wi-Fi at five restaurants in Prague. Further expansion is likely, the two companies said in a statement.

Cesky Telecom offers a free pilot program for Wi-Fi through the fall and expects to introduce a paid Wi-Fi service after its pilot program ends. The total number of wireless access points will reach 42 throughout the country as a result of Tuesday’s agreement with KFC.

Several companies are in the race to roll out Wi-Fi services in the Czech Republic even as some analysts have cautioned that a coherent business model has yet to be developed that is capable of making money.
