A new SD WiFi card from Ambicom will support PocketPC 2002 and 2003, although no support currently exists for any Palm OS version.
However, according to Ambicom, their Palm OS drivers are slated for completion around mid-summer, June or July, which is a firmer date than Sandisk has offered. Ambicom intends to support both Palm OS 4 and OS 5. Competitor Sandisk’s SD card will only support OS 5 if its drivers are ever released.
When using the Wi-Fi SDIO card in a PDAm it often isn’t possible to also use a memory card, as both use the Pocket PC’s single SD slot. That’s why SanDisk has developed a Wi-Fi SDIO card that also offers 256 MB of memory. SanDisk’s Wi-Fi SDIO card with 256 MB of memory will have a suggested retail price of about $150 while the Ambicom SD card will cost about $99.
