The Cleveland Public Library is first among a national network of public libraries to add Mobipocket eBooks to their download libraries. The free Mobipocket Reader lets patrons download and read titles on Motorola, Samsung, and Nokia Smartphones, virtually all PDAs, and on personal and notebook computers.new eBook titles available from the CLEVNET Digital Library Connection (dlc.clevnet.org).

Library eBooks are available from dozens of leading publishers including HarperCollins Perfectbound, McGraw-Hill, Time Warner, RosettaBooks, eReads, and Fictionwise. Other library that offer titles in Mobipocket format include Cuyahoga County Public Library (OH); Essex County Library(UK), and others.

Other public domain text is available at Bibliomania, Project Gutenberg and the University of Virginia Library’s Etext Center, which operates one of the world’s largest and busiest public eBook libraries. Onlinebooks at the University of Pennsylvania, has over 19,000 listings. TeleRead calls for well-stocked national digital libraries in the United States and elsewhere.
