Vocera + Wayport

Wayport, with more than 9,000 hot spot locations, and Vocera Communications, a company providing voice communication over WiFi, announced today that they have entered into a reseller agreement.

The Vocera Communications System will be supported on Wayport’s Wi-Fi networks at hotels and other locations.

Vocera’s wireless units look like StarTrek communicators clipped to lapels, and enable in-building mobile workers to instantly communicate with one another. They use a combination of the Vocera Communications Software and the wearable Communications Badge which operates on Wi-Fi networks such as Wayport’s.

Using basic voice commands, the System instantly connects staff. It’s used in hospitals and other organizations where people need to communicate constantly.

Wayport will promote and support the Vocera solution in both existing and prospective Wayport hotel properties and other select venues.

The combined solution will provide hotels with the ability to be always connected to key staff members including the front desk, concierge, facilities, housekeeping, health club, dining and other hotel groups cost effectively.

Wayport will be showing the Vocera System and other solutions at HITEC, June 21-23, 2005.
