PCC Network Solutions, a systems integrator, today announced that it has been selected by the City of West Hollywood to design, build and deliver the City’s pilot outdoor public wireless mesh network that will enable the City to offer outdoor wireless Internet access to residents, businesses and visitors.
The City’s free pilot Wi-Fi program will be available along Santa Monica Boulevard between La Brea Avenue and Fairfax Avenue and will include Plummer Park and the West Hollywood Gateway Center courtyard. Wi-Fi access is scheduled to be available in the fall of 2005.
Wi-Fi vendors will utilize MetroMesh routers from Tropos Networks.
