PersonalTelco’s Field Day (photos) and the Seattle Wireless Field day are combining forces today, on a joint real-time connectivity project between the respective cities.

The plan is to set up Portland gear on Rocky Butte (45.546868,-122.566038) and point antennas at Crown Point (45.539594,-122.244358) and Larch Mountain (45.532567,-122.087631).

Then, with an internet connection established, the remote users could establish a connection with Seattle Wireless (via tunneled internet connection) and relay communications through a couple of hops there.

Seattle Wireless is linking between Magnolia Park, Alki Beach (above) and Gasworks Park.
PersonalTelco’s Field Day this August was lots of fun. This is an extention of that.
