Beginning today, Verizon Wireless customers with Mobile Web 2.0-capable phones can check out AP Mobile Elections on their handsets to access full coverage of the 2006 primary and general election results collected by The Associated Press
AP Mobile Elections gives Verizon Wireless customers access to coverage for over 500 races. The results are updated every five minutes as new information becomes available. The application comes with a number of features to keep track of the results including:
- My Races: Customers can bookmark specific races so they can easily track results on election night
- Top Races: Customers can view results of the top races in the news
- Top Political Stories: Customers can access AP’s Political Alert wire, covering the top political stories from around the country
Beginning today, AP Mobile Elections will be available on the home page of Verizon ’s Mobile Web. Customers can also access AP Mobile Elections from a Mobile Web 2.0-capable phone by entering http://mer.ap.org in the Mobile Web browser on their phone.Airtime charges apply when browsing, downloading and using certain applications on Verizon Wireless handsets. Customers need Verizon Wireless digital service to access Mobile Web 2.0.
