Florida’s Dolphin Stadium will debut a new wireless network from Belair just in time for the upcoming FedEx Orange Bowl (Jan. 2, 2007) and Super Bowl XLI (Feb. 4, 2007).
BelAir partner A2000 Network Solutions deployed the wireless network. It will support the stadium’s POS system and business services within the facility with plans to use the network with venue-wide VoIP services to keep staff connected, as well as a video security system. The stadium bowl is supported by five nodes, while the entire network includes 29 nodes covering more than two million square feet.
The network was up and running in less than 30 days. Sports reporters on tight deadlines now have the choice to file up-to-the-minute stories wirelessly from the press box.
Dolphin Stadium has hosted three Super Bowls and two World Series, and will be home to two Super Bowls in the next four years, including the upcoming Super Bowl XLI in February 2007.
Dolphin Stadium also has something any red-blooded consumer can aspire to — The World’s Largest 720p HDTV (at 1750 inches).
