DEMO 07 Demonstrators were high on mobility, reports RCR News. C/Net has special coverage.
Some mobile products demoed at DEMO include:
- Bling Software introduced an Ajax-based Web client for the delivery of graphic-heavy, data rich-applications to mobile handsets.
- Dartdevices has software that makes interoperabilty practical and has Motorola investment.. Mobile gadgets and computers can interact, share and update information.
- GoWare allows users to create personalized mobile portals. The offering, dubbed DoMo, lets users use their phones to access mashups of Web content. “Rather than requiring an application on the mobile phone, our users need only visit a single Web site from the mobile browser to access all of their content.”
- Share2Me distributes users’ content across PCs and mobile devices. Available later this year, it will allow users to access social networks such as MySpace or Facebook from their phones and share content.
- Nuvoiz A SoftPhone with industry-standard compliant with voice, chat and presence capabilities and comes with management servers for IT managers to monitor traffic and to secure, diagnose and provision clients.
- TeleFlip TeleMail allows email to automatically flow to standard mobile phones with no new software downloads or special handsets.
- GETaBUZ Personalize your mobile phone’s voicemail greeting or send a message, fusing the user’s voice with their favorite music.
- Me.dium is a social surfing Web application that lets Firefox users watch other people’s behavior patterns online. Users can see up to six friends’ online activity, in addition to strangers who are floating around similar sites.
- Project Evros is based on a 3G PCMCIA card equipped with an independent processor, OS and power supply. It can be used to secure, monitor, manage and locate the laptop, even offline, and destroy its data if the laptop is lost or stolen.
- Iqzone announced a mobile advertising service for classified ads. The application allows camera-phone users to take a photo or video of a product or service, bundle the image with text and upload the data to a server. Sellers can target ad distribution by geography, while users can track items by keyword or product category.
- GetMobio allows users to locate nightclubs, call a cab, find flight information or make dinner reservations over their phones. Mobio Networks calls it a “lifestyle portal” with more than 50 dynamic applications and widgets.
- WHISHER is a software application that aggregates all WiFi networks into one, free global wireless community—without requiring new hardware or equipment. Like FON, in can allow users to set up “free” WiFi networks among friends.
Gigaom is also attending the conference and likes Zink and Apollo. QTech and Eyejot, not so much.
