Ultra Wideband (UWB) which operates in the 3.1GHz to 10.6GHz spectrum at up to 480Mbps has achieved standards status by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and Ecma International who signed off on ECMA-368, ECMA-369, and ISO/IEC 26907, forming the basis for Wireless USB.

TeleNav and Sprint today launched Sprint Navigation, said to be the industry’s first GPS navigation bundled in data packs.

Beceem Chips in WiMax/Cell phone

Sanyo Electric will use chips from Beceem Communications for its planned dual-mode CDMA/WiMAX mobile phones, reports RCR News. Sanyo is also a major handset supplier to Sprint Nextel, which is building out a mobile WiMAX network in the United States, notes RCR News.
