Sierra Wireless HSUPA/USB Modem

Sierra Wireless today introduced two HSUPA cellular modems - the AirCard® 880U and AirCard 881U USB modems. Commercial shipments are expected to begin in September.

Mesh Networking in Mines

Wireless networking solutions provider Rajant Corp announced that its BreadCrumb wireless system has been approved and listed by the West Virginia Office of Miner’s Health, Safety and Training for use by mining-permit holders.

Earthlink Restructures, MuniFi Holds Breath

EarthLink unveiled a restructuring today that will shutter a handful of locations and eliminate 900 jobs. The restructuring will close its Orlando, FL; Knoxville, TN; Harrisburg, PA and San Francisco, CA offices and substantially reduce its presence in Pasadena, CA, and Atlanta, GA.

Engadget says they have witnessed a full SIM unlock of the iPhone with a small piece of software.

The iPhoneSIMfree.com team said they cracked Apple’s iPhone SIM. That, apparently, allows the iPhone to be used on the other GSM network in the United States — T-Mobile.
