Sprint is producing its own made-for-mobile video content.
The carrier launched the Sprint Exclusive Entertainment (SEE) network, an in-house effort set to deliver more than 150 on-demand programs each week. The two-minute video clips will focus on sports, music and entertainment news and will be available to Power Vision subscribers at no additional charge. The videos will be shot on location and at a new studio in Chicago, says RCR News
Verizon, by contrast, also features audio and video clips on their EVDO network called VCast, but prefer to offload their video programming on the MediaFLO Network, since it uses 50,000 watt, mobile tv transmitters — on a separate 700 MHz band. It multicasts 8-10 television channels over Verizon’s VCast Mobile TV.
