MySpace and Sprint have gotten together to link the MySpace Mobile Web site to Sprint mobile phones for one click access from the Sprint portal.

The new version of MySpace Mobile will feature rich graphical design, a revamped email interface and other new features. The site is currently in beta at mobile.myspace.com and has seen over one million unique visitors since its release in September.

The agreement also directly links to other Fox websites, including IGN, FOXSports.com on MSN, RottenTomatoes, AskMen, its network of MyFOX local affiliates and Photobucket.

“Our partnership empowers Sprint data subscribers with easy access to their MySpace community at no additional charge,” said Amit Kapur, VP of business development for MySpace. “We’re also in the process of redesigning the mobile site to provide an updated look and feel and enhanced functionality.”

The MySpace Mobile currently offers mobile alerts and premium applications on devices offered in the U.S. by Sprint and other carriers. In September, Fox Interactive launched and began selling advertising on free mobile extensions of a number of its Web sites.

Sprint and FOX have partnered on mobile content distribution since 2002, when Sprint first began syndicating sports news and scores from FOXSports.com. FOX News has recently launched FOX News for iPhone optimized for Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch over cellular or WiFi connections.

In related news, Google’s Picasa has been revamped for the iPhone, says the Official Google Mobile Blog. You can quickly see all your albums that you’ve uploaded to Picasa Web. If you click on any of the albums, you can get a full view of your picture with comments from your friends. Slideshow will automatically scroll pictures. You can also search for photos in your album or through community photos or view your friends’ albums through favorites.

Meanwhile, Yahoo’s Flickr, which also has a mobile site, has mobile uploading of photos and video through applications like ShoZu. Flickr recently added online editing.

Flickr on Thursday released a new version of its uploading software and made it an open-source in the process, reports C/Net. Flickr Uploadr 3.0, available for Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5 and for Windows XP and Vista is available in source code form of the General Public License (GPL). Open-source software may be freely modified, copied, and shared; allowing programmers to modify the Uploadr tool so it works on Linux or other photo-sharing sites, too.
