MySpace and Sprint, today announced the launch of MySpace Mobile (m.myspace.com) on all Web-enabled Sprint phones.

Sprint says it marks the first free direct access to the new MySpace Mobile website on a U.S. wireless carrier, allowing Sprint data subscribers a fast track to their MySpace profiles on their phones.

MySpace Mobile will include the ability to edit MySpace profiles, view and add friends, post blogs and bulletins, send and receive MySpace messages, and much more – all from their Sprint phone. The site, previously in beta, has seen more than one million unique visitors per day since its release in September.

The rich feature set for MySpace Mobile on Sprint phones includes:

  • Mail. Sprint phones have the ability to send messages to their MySpace friends and manage friend requests.
  • Viewing Photo Albums. Available by clicking “My Photos” from the MySpace Mobile Home screen.
  • Viewing Friends. View friends or their friends’ friends by clicking on the friend list. Each friend page displays a profile picture, mood and status.
  • Searching for Friends. Search for people by entering their email address, and to send them friend invites with one click.
  • Posting Comments or Blog Entries. To post a blog or comment, Sprint customers simply click on “My Blog” from the MySpace Home screen. Users can save their work at any time, and information will update both the mobile and online MySpace profile pages.

MySpace Mobile on Sprint complements the social networking site’s current mobile offerings, which include mobile alerts and premium applications on devices offered in the U.S. by Sprint and other carriers.

Sprint is putting a full-fledged browser in “virtually all” its phones using Openwave’s OpenWeb.

Unlimited mobile Web use, including the new MySpace Mobile, is included at no additional charge in Sprint’s new $99 Simply Everything plan, which features unlimited calling, messaging and data. For Sprint customers on other calling plans, data packs included unlimited mobile Web use start at $15 per month.
