The O’Reilly Open Source Convention (OSCON) is an annual convention for the discussion of open source software, such as Linux, MySQL, Perl and Python. It is organized (sitemap) by the publisher O’Reilly Media and is held each summer in Portland, Oregon.
Now in its tenth year, OSCON runs July 21-25 at the Oregon Convention Center, bringing together 2500 experts and visionaries in hundreds of sessions ranging from basic tutorials, to mobile development to cutting edge innovations.

Jim Zemlin, executive director of the Linux Foundation will talk about “The State of Mobile Linux” on July 21. Major cellular operators are now backing LiMo (Linux Mobile) and Android from Google and the Open Handset Alliance.
