Devicescape Software, the provider of seamless roaming WiFi access for wireless devices, today announced that it will be available in the new Slacker G2 Personal Radio Player ($199). Devicescape makes it easy to automatically refresh music and add personal radio stations from hundreds of thousands of Wi-Fi hotspots.
The portable Slacker G2 Personal Radio Player automatically downloads and continuously refreshes thousands of personally selected songs on each device, and turns them into personalized radio stations. Because the players don’t have to be connected to Wi-Fi to play, Slacker G2 owners can listen to CD quality, personalized radio everywhere they go.
To offer music for free, the Slacker Basic Radio service may play one to two ads an hour. It’s also available in 15, 25 and 40 station capacities without ads.
It can “learn” what music you like.
The player can connect via built-in Wi-Fi, powered by Devicescape, or USB to automatically refresh music and add stations. Devicescape automates the process of accessing Wi-Fi hotspots, making it easy for Slacker G2 users to instantly access Wi-Fi hotspots that normally require a password or web-based login.
“The Slacker G2 is designed to do all of the work by providing consumers with a perfect, personalized music experience wherever they are,” said Jonathan Sasse vice president of marketing for Slacker. “By incorporating Devicescape into the Slacker G2, we are able to automate access to Wi-Fi at thousands of locations — making it effortless for users to refresh their stations.”
