Alianza, a provider of voice over WiMAX solutions, and Redline Communications, a WiMAX infrastructure company, today announced interoperability of voice offerings over WiMAX.
Alianza and Redline tested Alianza’s hosted voice platform with Redline’s RedMAX gear as part of the Redline Ecosystem Verification (REV) program. The REV program is Redline’s interoperability testing program. It verifies connectivity and performance between Redline’s RedMAX and RedMAX 4C Mobile WiMAX products with other WiMAX devices. The program also includes Redline’s backhaul systems used by carriers to support high-bandwidth voice, video and data services.
Alianza says their platform offers service providers the fastest, simplest and most economical way to provide advanced telephony to residential or business customers and allows WiMAX service providers to focus on generating revenue instead of managing and operating a voice solution.
“High quality voice services based on open standards are an important element in the roll-out of successful Mobile WiMAX networks. The combination of Redline’s WiMAX technology and deployment expertise and Alianza’s voice-over WiMAX platform will benefit the operators’ business model,” said Kevin Suitor, vice president of marketing and business development, Redline Communications.
“Service providers deploying full-service WiMAX networks can leverage Alianza’s easy to install voice platform to add voice services to their networks at lower costs than what’s currently offered by proprietary vendors,”
The RedMAX 4C Mobile WiMAX platform is designed to enable operators to maximize the reach and customer density. It includes a modular, standardized µTCA (micro Telecommunications Computing Architecture) chassis base station that is small and easy to deploy. Redline’s new WiMAX offering is also designed to facilitate the integration of its existing RedMAX products with its RedMAX 4C technologies, providing operators a path to true mobility.
