TwitVid launched a mobile app today for quick video tweets and uploads, using the new video capabilities of the iPhone 3g S. The TwitVid app lets you record a video, write a tweet and then post it to your Twitter account. It also works with Facebook, MySpace and YouTube, courtesy of an “AutoShare” feature.
Simply download the app from the Apple App Store at http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=317646079&mt=8
- Open the TwitVid.com app
- Select or Record a Video
- Insert a tweet
- Click Post and let your video upload
- People can start watching it within seconds
Anyone else can Tweet videos by going directly to www.twitvid.com
A TwitVid enabled TwitterFon app will also be available soon, says the company.
TwitVid.com comes from EatLime, a company founded last year by Waterloo University students Mo Adham and Adil Lalan. Venture Beat says personal video publishing will soon explode on the back of increasingly powerful video capabilities from smartphones.
A week ago, Qik.com announced that they had raised $5.5 million from Quest Venture Partners and CampVentures. Qik now runs on Android phones.
Ustream Mobile and Livecast also enable live video streaming from mobile devices. Mobile Video: Infrastructure Tsunami?, has more.
