Japan’s largest mobile carrier, NTT DoCoMo, will showcase some LTE stuff at the big Mobile World Congress (15 – 18 February), in Barcelona, says Unwired View. NTT docomo has more than 53 million customers (as of March 2008), which is more than half of Japan’s cellular market, according to Wikipedia.

According to IDG, DoCoMo will showcase an LTE phone prototype. The the prototype LTE chip was developed by four companies, NTT DoCoMo, NEC, Fujitsu and Panasonic.

Meanwhile, CLEAR has released an Android WiMAX Framework Ver 1.0.

Android WiMAX Framework will provide the functionality to connect to WiMAX networks on Android OS. It will also provide a set of APIs to enable developers to create applications based on WiMAX technology.
