Today AT&T announced it will begin offering Motorola’s Backflip Android phone starting on March 7. The Backflip will be the first Android handset to be offered by AT&T.
It runs Motorola’s MOTOBLUR social networking software, which so far has only been offered to T-Mobile customers in the U.S. You pay $199.99 and after mail-in rebate receive $100.00 via AT&T Promotion Card. A voice plan and $30/month data plan is required on a two-year service agreement.

AT&T is planning to roll out four more Android devices during the first half of 2010. Those devices will come from Dell, HTC and Motorola. Dell introduced several Android based handsets in 2009. Both HTC and Motorola have a handful of Android devices being offered by other networks.
