Verizon Wireless, the nation’s largest wireless provider, will enable customers to buy stuff online and have it billed to their Verizon account. It has signed an agreement with online payments company Danal to offering a payment platform, similar to offerings by Apple, Amazon and PayPal.
Verizon can offer its 91.2 million wireless subscribers, a BilltoMobile button. You enter your mobile number and mobile billing zip codes. Then you get a text message on your mobile phones with a one-time code. You enter this code into the online checkout window.
No pre-registration or links to credit cards or bank accounts are required. There is a $25 spending limit on purchases made via this platform.
