Nokia’s new Ovi App Wizard beta enables practically anyone to be a mobile application developer and publish content, says GigaOm.

Nokia’s new service doesn’t require specialized expertise or a software development kit. Instead, users just plug in the URL of their Twitter feed, Facebook account or RSS feed, upload a logo, answer a few questions and you’ll be on the Ovi Store in 24 hours.

The Ovi App Wizard takes the user-submitted information and creates an app that can be “delivered on more than 100 Nokia device models in more than 180 countries around the world.” Your content can be free, ad-supported or subscription-based.

The process is simple: Name it, pick an RSS feed, choose the colors, and then set up the distribution options. You can choose a pre-fabbed ad system and take a cut of the revenue or you can pick a price. Hit the publish button, and about 24 hours later, you’ll have an Ovi Store App.

Here’s Dailywireless on the Ovi Store (it’s free and has no ads).

It was dead simple to create a mobile version of this web site. It took around five minutes, like Nokia said. Nokia gives you lots of choices and offers up to a 70% revenue share of gross sales.

The Ovi Store was launched world wide in May 2009. Here, customers can download mobile games, applications, videos, images, and ringing tones to their Nokia devices. Some of the items are free of charge; others can be purchased using credit card or through operator billing. Supported content types include: Java ME, Flash applications, widgets, ringtones, and more for Nokia Series 40 and S60 devices.
