Bluetooth is moving beyond the headset to the TV and MP3 player, says chipmaker Broadcom. The new Mitsubishi Unisen Immersive LED TV now supports audio streaming straight from MP3 Players and smartphones (enabled with Bluetooth) to the TV, allowing consumers to take advantage of TV’s unique Immersive Sound technology.
Almost all smartphones today include Bluetooth capabilities, says Broadcom, making it very convenient to stream music wirelessly. Bluetooth is also a growing technology for MP3 players.
Broadcom has now adapted and enhanced its Bluetooth solutions to gain broader adoption in consumer electronics, such as advanced remote control functionality and wireless audio streaming. Mitsubishi features the Broadcom BCM2046 single-chip Bluetooth system-on-a-chip (SoC) solution — one of the most widely adopted Bluetooth SoCs in consumer electronics applications.
