Clear’s PR firm today jumped on AT&T’s elimination of unlimited service [and the anticipated] Verizon move to data caps. They sent a link to a video recorded last year in Portland. It demonstrates two identical iPhones, one running on AT&T’s 3G network and one running off the WiFi connection from a Clearspot mobile router.
Sprint and Clear say WiMAX is currently available to 44 million people and their IP-network network has spectrum to burn, giving them a unique advantage over cellular’s narrow spectrum allotment — LTE or not.
