JK OnTheRun reviews the three leading Android phones; the Motorola Droid 2, Samsung EPIC 4G and HTC EVO 4G. The Droid 2 and Epic4G have sliding QWERTY keyboards while the HTC EVO and Samsung Epic4G (due August 31), work on Sprint’s 4G (WiMAX) network.
They all have 1 GHz processors. The Droid 2 has a TI OMAP processor with a dedicated GPU, the EPIC 4G has a Samsung Cortex A8 Hummingbird and the EVO 4G uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon. The performance is similar on all three phones.
The displays are all different: the smallest is the 3.7-inch LCD on the Droid 2, the EPIC 4G has a 4-inch Super AMOLED, and the largest is the 4.3-inch LCD on the EVO 4G. If a QWERTY keyboard is important, the EPIC 4G wins the showdown, says JK.
Mobile Burn has a complete review of the Epic 4G.
