Verizon’s Droid Incredible, launched in late April, will begin getting the OTA update to Android 2.2 today, Verizon tweeted this morning.
The Droid Incredible packs a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 8GB of internal storage, 3.7″ display (480×800), microSD and until today, Google’s Android 2.1 operating system (with HTC Sense layered on top). It includes an FM tuner; a Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr-integrated social aggregation application called Friend Stream, a Twitter client named Peep, and a geotagging application for photos called Footprints.
According to Droid Life, improvements coming to the Droid Incredible via the OTA update include:
- 720p video recording
- 802.11n Wi-Fi
- Adobe Flash Player 10.1
- 270 degree screen rotation
- A new Mail Stream widget
- Text Message widget
Most all of the features and speed improvements found in the base Android 2.2 build are expected to be supported.
