T-Mobile USA said today that HSPA+ versions of their Samsung Galaxy S 4G and T-Mobile’s Sidekick smartphones are “coming soon”. They will join T-Mobile’s tablets including the Dell Streak 7 and the T-Mobile G-Slate Android Honeycomb. A T-Mobile laptop stick developed by ZTE, capable of 42 Mbps, is slated to launch in the first half of 2011.

T-Mobile says it plans to double the speed of its HSPA+ network this year. The company vowed to aggressively expand and evolve its 4G smartphone portfolio, launching additional devices capable of delivering peak download speeds of up to 21 Mbps in the first half of 2011, and smartphones capable of delivering peak download speeds of up to 42 Mbps in the second half of the year.

T-Mobile’s Dell Streak 7, is expected to be available at T-Mobile stores across the country in the coming weeks. It features Android 2.2, a Tegra Dual Core processor, front and rear facing cameras and support for the 21 Mbps HSPA+ network for around $330.

The Samsung Galaxy S 4G, capable of delivering theoretical peak download speeds of up to 21 Mbps, will be officially announced at the Mobile World Congress on Feb. 13. PC Magazine notes the current Galaxy S Android phones still haven’t received upgrades to Android 2.2, generating a lot of anger among owners of the Samsung Vibrant and other popular US Galaxy S phones.

The upgrade is coming tomorrow, according to T-Mobile CMO Cole Brodman. Like most updates, it will come in waves so not everyone will receive it on the first day.
