Twitter Turns Five

In March, Twitter will turn five years old. Terry Gross talks with Twitter’s Biz Stone about Starting A Revolution.

It’s a wide-ranging discussion about Twitter, including how it was used recently in Egypt to help organize the revolution and how it has been used to spread democracy movements in other countries.

Jack Dorsey first introduced the idea of a service that used SMS to tell small groups what an individual was doing, partly inspired by TXTMob.

It really took off at SXSW 2007.
