WiFi vendor Meraki, which makes easy to use and manage WiFi systems for individuals and enterprises, today announced three new additions to their wireless product portfolio that provide greater capacity, increased security and broader reach for enterprise wireless LANs:
- The Meraki MR24 is the first enterprise class AP to feature 3-stream, 3×3 MIMO technology. The design increases capacity and the device’s two radios can each support up to three data streams.
- Meraki NAC is built into their wireless LAN. It delivers one-click network security to block network access from devices with insufficient virus protection.
- Meraki Teleworker VPN provides secure remote access to the corporate network for wired and wireless clients like VoIP phones and iPads. This solution complements the Meraki MX cloud-managed router, which provides site-to-site VPN for medium-large branch offices.
The Meraki MR24, which costs $1,199, delivers 240M bps of bandwidth up to 150 feet. MR24 is also available via Meraki’s innovative Networking as a Service pricing, which eliminates up front capital costs and long-term commitments. Prices start at $38/month.
Their Meraki MX series cloud-managed routers, integrate web-based centralized management, firewall, internet gateway service, and application traffic shaping, in an easy-to-use, affordable device.
Meraki’s revenue for the quarter was three times higher than it was in Dec. 2009. In addition, the firm, which has more than 17,000 customers, secured $15 million in venture funding.
