Citrix has launched an iPad version of GoToMyPC, a remote desktop application that lets you login to your computer and control it on the go.
Up until recently you needed a PC to login to a remote PC using the service. But the iPad app lets you do it anywhere you can get an internet connection on an iPad.
Mobilputing says GoToMyPC is hardly the first app of its type for the iPad. LogMein, TeamViewer, Parallels, Splashtop, and others offer similar apps. But the GoToMyPC app has tight security features including 128-bit AES encryption, user authentication, and dual passwords, oriented for business.

I’ve been a GotoMyPC user for many, many years now and I’m growing tired of the snail’s pace of the company’s developers. The iPhone has been available since 2007, the iPod Touch since 2008 and the iPad since March of this year. It is absolutely unacceptable in this day and age for their developers to take this long to develop apps for these devices when their competitors, namely LogMeIn and even some small/individual developers have been able to release remote access apps months or years before them. Bottom line, their developers need to get their lazy butts in gear and release an app. If they can’t release an iPad app within the next 30 days, I’ll cancel my subscription and switch to LogMeIn.
