Virgin Mobile is now offering one of the cheapest 3G data plans on the market in the US, notes Liliputing, offering customers a $20 per month service using a USB modem ($79), MiFi mobile hotspot ($125), or a 3G adapter for an iPod touch ($99).
The bad news is that you only get 500MB of data transfer for that $20. Virgin also offers an “unlimited” data plan for $50 per month, but the company throttles your connection speed after you use 2.5GB. You can also get 10 days or 100MB of data for $10 on their prepaid plan. Virgin Mobile uses Sprint’s 3G wireless network, so it’s generally available wherever Sprint is.
