CTIA 2012

While the big international telecommunicatios show is the Mobile World Congress, held in Barcelona every February, the big annual telecom show in the United States is the CTIA Telecommunications show, being held in New Orleans this week.

CTIA 2012 features a 300,000 square feet exhibit floor with more than 1,000 exhibitor companies showcasing everything that’s new. Here are the latest press releases from the show and Events by Topic. The 2012 keynote sessions will be streamed live at www.ctiashows.com/keynoteslive.

A new Solutions Showcase, the CTIA Emerging Technology (E-Tech) Awards program, and Mobile Apps World are also featured. The second annual BIG Idea Contest will present their visions to a live voting audience today.

From 4:30-6:00 p.m. CDT today, carrier CEOs will deliver individual keynote remarks followed by a lively discussion moderated by Jim Cramer, host of CNBC’s “Mad Money.” The carrier CEOs speaking are:

  • Dan Hesse, CEO, Sprint Nextel Corporation
  • Philipp Humm, CEO & President, T-Mobile USA
  • Dan Mead, President & CEO, Verizon Wireless
  • Ralph de la Vega, President & CEO, AT&T Mobility
