Freedom Pop Connects with Sprint LTE & 3G

Today FreedomPop, the disruptive free wireless broadband internet company, announced that they will now have access to Sprint’s new 4G LTE network, as well as its WiMAX and 3G network. The partnership with Sprint enables FreedomPop to possess a national footprint, covering over 250 million Americans on the Sprint 3G, WiMAX and LTE, networks.

FreedomPop delivers 100% FREE 3G and 4G mobile broadband Internet access. It does this with a $99 iPhone sleeve. It currently receives WiMax broadband, and outputs WiFi to the iPhone for broadband.

FreedomPop has raised $7.5 million in a first round of funding, led by ManGrove and DCM, VentureBeat has learned.

Sprint has plans to build out its 4G LTE network, which is coming soon, in 2012-13, largely covering 250 million Americans by the end of 2013.
