Kindle HD Ships

The Kindle Fire HD 8.9 is now shipping. The $299, 8.9″ tablet features a 1,920 x 1,200 display and is also available at Best Buy starting tomorrow as well as additional retailers like Staples and Radio Shack in the coming weeks.

Amazon says it’s value added features include free unlimited cloud storage for all your Amazon content, dual band, dual antennas + MIMO, and Prime Instant Video with unlimited, instant streaming of thousands of popular movies and TV shows.

Of course Apple’s iPad is the hands down winner in quantity and quality of applications.

The LTE version of Amazon’s 8.9″ tablet will ship next week. That model costs $499, compared to the comparably equipped iPad goes for $629.

Amazon has a killer $50 a year Data Plan that’s capped at 250MB/Month. It also includes a $10 App Credit & 20GB Cloud Storage. Amazon says a similar data plan on the Apple tablet would cost $210/year.
