New Facebook News Feed

Facebook announced this week significant changes to how it will treat users’ News Feed.

The News Feed will now look and act the same across phones, tablets, and PCs, reports PhoneScoop. All the controls will be positioned the same across platforms. Images will be given priority, according to Facebook, and they will be presented in a more colorful, easy-to-follow format.

Facebook also introduced several new sub-feeds that will allow users to browse through certain types of content, including music, photos, and “Liked” pages.

They include:

  • All Friends – a feed that shows you everything your friends are sharing
  • Photos – a feed with nothing but photos from your friends and the Pages you like
  • Music – a feed with posts about the music you listen to
  • Following – a feed with the latest news from the Pages you like and the people you follow.

The new design will be rolled out slowly over the course of the next few weeks to all users on the web. Individual smartphone and tablet apps will be updated, too, to reflect the changes to the News Feed design.
