New Acer Convertables and Tablets

Acer announced today new devices including the new Aspire P3, an “ultrabook convertible”, a tablet with a detachable keyboard dock running Windows 8, with a Core i3 or i5 processor.

The P3 is similar to Microsoft’s Surface, with a clip-on keyboard and pen support and is available immediately starting at $799.99 USD.

Other new Acer products announced today, include the Aspire R7, with a 15 inch screen mounted on a floating hinge. The Acer Aspire R7 will ship May 17th for $1000 and up, and it should be available for pre-order from Best Buy shortly.

The Aspire V Series touch notebooks come with 11.6″, 14.0″ and 15.6″ display sizes.

Iconia Android tablets were also introduced. The Iconia A1 is a 7.9-inch tablet, with an IPS display, and will be available for $169.

The Acer Iconia A1 features an iPad mini-like 1024 x 768 pixel IPS display, runs Android 4.2, and has 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, WiFi and Bluetooth. Other features include a 5MP rear camera, a VGA front-facing camera, a micro HDMI port, and a 3250mAh battery which is said to offer up to 7 hours of run time. It sports a 1.2 GHz MediaTek MT8125 ARM Cortex-A9 quad-core processor.
