Developers can now submit URLs for their HTML5 web apps and mobile websites and have Amazon offer that content to millions of Kindle Fire and Amazon Appstore customers in a convenient way similar to native apps.
Amazon says Web apps can reach customers in nearly 200 countries on Amazon using HTML5 and mobile web-optimized apps.
A hybrid mobile application is a mobile application that runs inside of a native container and leverages the device’s web browser to display locally hosted HTML pages. PhoneGap, Apache Corona, or Titanium, for example, enable developers to port HTML-5 based webapps to dedicated app stores. They may also utilize a phone’s GPS or camera.
