Redline Communications, a provider of wireless broadband networking systems for industrial applications such as oil and gas, and mining, announced today its new Connect family of transport gateway SCADA terminals.
SCADA stands for supervisory control and data acquisition. It is a type of M2M communications used in the monitoring and control of industrial processes.
Redline’s Connect terminals are said to have top speeds of 2 Mbps and 4 Mbps, or eight to sixteen times faster than the competition which has an average top speed of 256 Kbps. The wireless terminal supports a wide range of licensed and unlicensed frequency bands from 470 MHz to 5.8 GHz.
Connect-OW, the first product in the Connect family to be introduced, is specially designed for secure, wireless machine-to-machine SCADA connectivity between distributed TCP/IP-based field devices and the control center. Connect terminals are TCP/IP based in order to give customers the ability to have real-time communications with the broadest range of SCADA devices.
