Microsoft on Monday announced the Surface 2 tablet, an RT-based tablet, with a 10″, 1920 x 1080 display, Nvidia’s 1.7GHz Tegra 4, an ARM mobile quad-core CPU with 2GB of RAM.
The Surface 2, with Windows RT, starts at $449, but Microsoft will continue selling the original Surface RT for $349.
Microsoft is taking aim at Apple $500 iPad. PC Magazine compares the two tablets, and believes many buyers may be surprised at how much they like what they find.
With 32GB of storage, the Surface 2 sells for $449. The Wi-Fi only iPad (32GB) sells for $599.
