Samsung has announced the Galaxy Camera 2, a successor to the original GALAXY Camera which combine an Android 4.1 OS with a 21x optical zoom and 3G/4G connectivity. Last year Samsung also introduced the Galaxy S4 Zoom, a smaller smartphone version with voice capability and a 10-1 zoom.

The Galaxy Camera 2, includes an upgraded 1.6GHz Quad Core processor and 2 GB of RAM. It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Samsung’s TouchWiz software, and a 4.8 inch HD touchscreen display. Wireless options including 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. It also supports GPS and GLONASS and has a 2000mAh battery. It will probably sell for about the same price, around $450, according to Liliputing.

Samsung’s new Android-powered DSLR, the NX-30, can transmit photos to mobile devices as they are taken and serve as a baby monitor or surveillance camera.
