Sprint Pays Termination Fees for Framily Plan Switch

For the next month, Sprint will pay early termination fees and offer device trade-in bonuses for customers who switch from the competition to one of its new “Framily” plans.

Both T-Mobile and AT&T started offering to pay the early termination fees (ETFs) of their competitors at the beginning of the year, and now Sprint is jumping on the bandwagon.

Sprint will pay the ETF on your last bill from another carrier up to $350, and it will pay up to $300 for a trade-in phone. But the promotion isn’t available for all Sprint plans, only its new “Framily” group plans.

CNET’s Marguerite Reardon explains the differences between locked and unlocked phones and helps a reader figure out how to get an unlocked device that works on multiple carriers.
