Wireless USB Gets a Standard

Ultra Wideband (UWB) which operates in the 3.1GHz to 10.6GHz spectrum at up to 480Mbps has achieved standards status by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and Ecma International who signed off on ECMA-368, ECMA-369, and ISO/IEC 26907, forming the basis for Wireless USB.

Motorola said today it is investing in Amimon, a developer of chip technology for wireless transmission of high-definition video. Terms of the equity investment were not disclosed.

Belkin has a new MIMO USB Network Adapter. It sports a cradle that the smaller USB section plugs into. You can use the Belkin adapter for your desktop or remove the smaller and more compact adapter from the cradle and stick it in your notebook.
